Argo Rannamets was elected as CFO and member of the Management Board of Ekspress Grupp

On 1 November, Argo Rannamets will start working as the CFO and member of the Management Board of the leading Baltic media house, AS Ekspress Grupp. In addition to the Group’s daily financial management, his area of responsibility will also include investor relations.

In 2010-2021, Argo Rannamets worked at the waste management group Ragn Sells where as a member of the Management Board he was in charge of financial management in Estonia and he oversaw the work of different business units in Eastern Europe and Sweden at the group level. In 2021-2023, he co-founded a start-up company KWOTA which offers mechanisms for carbon compensation. Rannamets has a Master’s Degree in financial and management accounting from Tallinn University of Technology.

According to Mari-Liis Rüütsalu, the Chairman of the Management Board of Ekspress Grupp, Argo Rannamets stood out because of his financial management experience both in an international enterprise group and in Estonia.

“Ekspress Grupp is transitioning to a digital business model: currently digital revenue already makes up more than 80% of our total revenue. In addition to media companies, our Group also owns several other companies with different revenue and business models. Argo’s diverse experience from both a large international group and an agile start-up company that operates in the new digital world form a unique combination, which we hope will be of great benefit in the further development of Ekspress Group, ”said Rüütsalu.

AS Ekspress Grupp is the leading Baltic media group whose key activities include web media content production, and publishing of newspapers, magazines and books. The Group also operates an electronic ticket sales platform and ticket sales offices, and provides the outdoor screen service in Estonia and Latvia. Ekspress Grupp launched its operations in 1989 and employs almost 1100 people.
