2024
- Delfi Latvia won the most Loved media brand prise in Latvia and in Baltics.
- Olga Dragiļeva, host of Delfi’s investigative journalism show “Kāpēc”, and Andris Auzāns, host and producer of the daily news “Spried ar Delfi”, received incentive awards in the category “hosts of on-demand audiovisual services” at the “Latvian Media Language Award” event organised by the The National Electronic Mass Media Council (NEPLP) and the Latvian State Language Center (VVC).
- In celebrations of Delfi 25 anniversary, special award for professionalism from the Baltic Media Excellence Center was received by Delfi’s journalist Laine Fedotova. The Baltic Media Excellence Center, which cares for and helps media develop and grow, provided Laine Fedotova with the opportunity to travel to Italy next spring and participate in an international journalism festival. Presenting the award to Laine, Gunta Sloga, the head of the Baltic Media Excellence Center, described her as “journalist, who thoroughly digs into every uncomfortable topic that falls into her hands.”
- The Latvian Journalists Association’s “Excellence Awards 2024” were presented. In the “Interview and features” category the award was received by Olga Dragiļeva for her interviews in the Delfi’s investigative journalism show “Kāpēc”.
- The Normunds Naumanis Annual Award in Art Criticism was received by poet, film and literary critic, and “Delfi” freelance author Aivars Madris. Prize was received specifically for content created for Delfi.
- In the celebrations of Delfi 25 anniversary, there were also audience, readers voting for their most favourite author. All together approx. 14k votes. The third most popular author was national news editor Kārlis Arājs. Honourable second place was taken by Alina Lastovska, a journalist who hosts Delfi’s investigative journalism show “Kāpēc”. As the creator of this program, ex host and journalist of this Delfi’s show Olga Dragiļeva, said, that Alina is one of the most knowledgeable journalists in Latvian political journalism. With a margin of only 32 votes, the audience recognised Jānis Sildniks, the creator of the podcast “Science or bullshit” and the head of the Delfi’s Social Media Department, as the favourite content creator at “Delfi” in 2024.
- On the annual Three Star Awards were presented at the Riga Circus, honouring the outstanding figures in Latvian sports in 2024. The award for the most outstanding achievement in sports journalism, traditionally determined annually by the jury of the Arturs Vaiders Foundation, was received by the Delfi’s sports department team of five authors, who created the article series “Paralympic Business” last fall – Jānis Freimanis, Selīna Puķe, Almants Poikāns, Jānis Bendziks and Ingmārs Jurisons.
2023
- Delfi journalist Sarmīte Gaidulele received the young journalist’s grant of the Westphalia Peace Prize.
- Delfi Latvia won seven nominations for “Excellence Awards 2022/2023” of the Latvian Union of Journalists and the award for the best interview. With seven nominations, Delfi Latvia was second only to the public television media.
- Delfi Latvia was awarded the label “Family-friendly Employer”.
- Delfi also won the Baltic Brand Ranking category for Latvians’ most favourable media brand.
2022
- MPV, Delfi Latvia’s paid sports news channel, won the second place in the IMNA Global Media Awards in the category of the best subscription product.
- In the Baltic Brand Awards, the contest of Baltic brands, Delfi came second among the most popular media brands both in Latvia and Baltic countries. In addition, Delfi also won the second place as the most person-centred brand in the Baltic countries.
2021
- Delfi project “Kod.lv” won the award of the Latvian Association of Journalists for the best minority language project. In total, eight Delfi content projects were nominated. “Kod.lv” is a multimedia project of the journalists of Rus.delfi.lv that aimed to ”decipher” Latvians on what influences them (music, funeral traditions, games, impact of Latvian cinema, etc.)
- For the first time ever, a Delfi Latvia project won an award at the creative and advertising competition Adwords. Charitable project “Strengthen the Strong” (“Stiprini stipros”) won the second prize in the category of corporate social responsibility and sustainability.
- At the Pan-Baltic marketing conference Baltic Brands Forum, Delfi Latvia won the award for being the most loved media brand in the Baltic States.
- Delfi’s journalist Laine Fedotova was nominated for the title of Young Journalist 2021 of the Latvian Association of Journalists.
2020
- Delfi Latvia received the award for being the most loved media brand in the country and the Baltic States.
- The Latvian Association of Journalists awarded the prize of the best minority language content of 2019 to Delfi.
- The Latvian Association of Journalists awarded the prize of the best editor for the year 2019 to the Editor-in-Chief of Delfi Latvia, Ingus Bērziņš.
- The extensive multi-media project “Побег 94 / Breakout 94” dealt with the largest escape of prisoners in the Latvian history 25 years ago. The work was praised for the use of extensive sources and interactive visual elements. Within the framework of the project, the events of the escape were reconstructed together with the interactive map of the prison’s territory.
2019
The Latvian Association of Journalists awarded the following prizes to the journalists of Delfi Latvia: in the category of investigative journalism, Delfi Latvia received two awards
- for a series of analytical articles “Value of trust”
- a special prize for the coverage of the parliamentary elections
In the category of the most popular media brands, Delfi Latvia came in second after TV3.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Delfi, readers were able to nominate the best journalists of Delfi Latvia. Three journalists received a special award: Kristina Hudenko, Diana Čučkova and Filips Lastovskis.
The critics writing music and literature reviews for Delfi Latvia received Normund Nauman art critic award for their work in 2019. Lauma Malnace received the award “The Best New Critic of the Year” and Artūrs Koroševskis was named “The Best Critic of the Year”.
