Why work at Ekspress Grupp?
An important success criterion for a media organisation is its people. We operate in a sector where success clearly depends on its employees and their satisfaction. In line with the development of the field of media, we strive to provide more modern conditions and opportunities to our employees so that they can create the best journalism. Our quality work helps contribute to building a better society. We have great authority and responsibility that we need to use wisely.
Today, we employ almost 1100 people in three Baltic States. Since our wish is that the consumers of our media would be all people living in our home markets in all their diversity and differences, our staff must also be diversified.
We wish that each one of them would be proud of their work and development, and would know that all the activities of Ekspress Grupp would make the world a more open and better place.
We wish to provide development opportunities for our employees, a creative and challenging environment; flexibility; modern opportunities promoting work in order to create the best journalism. For employee development, we organise both internal and external training courses, allow participation in conferences, international journalist training programmes and study trips to international media groups. We wish to learn from the best and thus, our employees have visited largest media companies in Scandinavia, Great Britain and elsewhere in Europe.
For enhancing career prospects of Ekspress Group, Hans H. Luik scholarship, targeted at acquiring new work-related specific skills, is becoming more popular.
Independent journalism is the foundation of democracy and therefore we consider it important that our employees would be independent and free in their work. The people working on the front line of journalism – journalists – account for ca 60% of the Group’s employees, the rest work in support functions. They include designers, IT-people, editors, business development, marketing, advertising sales, distribution, finance and human resources departments, customer service, etc.
We all make our best to provide quality and independent journalism to everyone at any time.

PRACTICAL WORK
Ekspress Grupp needs professional and motivated employees both now and in the future, therefore we consider it equally important to retain and develop current employees as well as successors.
Group employees give media and communication lectures at universities, host visitors at editorial offices to different age groups, participate in student events to provide an overview of the work and employment opportunities of the leading media group in the Baltic States. We also collaborate with several educational institutions and as consequence, more than a few hundred trainees come to us each year. The best of them can see the inner workings of the media business and test themselves side-by-side and under the supervision of real professionals.
We can promise one thing to those who are interested in traineeship – as a junior journalist, you will quite quickly find yourself in the middle of the local or world politics and economy, or foreign relations. Our great advantage is flexibility and an opportunity to perform different tasks at group companies – we publish numerous magazines and newspapers, and manage portals covering various fields.
We promise to you that the best colleagues, the most enjoyable job and the most interesting tasks will await you in the highly-regarded media houses in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
